The Enlarged City School District in Middletown, NY has more than half of their student population economically disadvantaged. Over 70% of our students receive free and reduced meals. This reflects the needs within my classroom in order to guide my students to the next level of learning.
I am a Kindergarten teacher in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom. The students that I teach are special education and general education students with a high percentage of ENL (English as a New Language) within my class. With the diversity of these students, I have special education, ENL and AIS teachers pushing into my classroom to service these young children. This creates a need for additional materials and resources for small group activities. Although many of our students come from homes of poverty, they have a warm feeling within our school and always try their best to succeed. Thank you for your consideration!
