I have 24 students. This year's group is mostly girls (17-7). Most struggle academically in reading and math. They are a fun, bright group who have a love for learning that is refreshing to see. Our students all receive free lunches and many of our students receive food for the weekends. Our school is committed to helping our students learn and working with the community. My kids are mostly African American with some Hispanic and Caucasian children. The students are a wide range of academic abilities including ESL, students with IEPS, and gifted. They are a really smart group of kids who deserve a chance to shine. Some of my most struggling students ask to read with others during recess time because they want to get better at it. Some of their favorite activities are P.E., exploring Google Earth and doing dance workout brain breaks. This is one of the best classes I have had. These kids truly want to learn.
