My name is Mark Koesterich, but the students call me "Mr. K". I have been a proud NYC teacher, working in Washington Heights, on 155th street and Amsterdam, since 1991! It is an honor to be able to wake every morning and spend your day with children. (They are so much more interesting than adults!) I judge my success each day by the number of carton light bulbs that turn on above my students heads and by the phrase, "Ohhhhhhh!". I spend a great deal of my year working on extra projects for my school. In years past we have created gardens, shot off rockets and built a school store, run by students. This year I am working on building a hydroponics grow lab for our science program and a guitar club that I am conducting during my lunch period. Thank you for supporting teachers and students and considering contributing to my projects.
