Our district is currently in need of new technology. We had one-to-one technology usage; however, our iPads became obsolete. They were not compatible with our internet browsers and system requirements. In order to help prepare our students for the real world, it is imperative that they be proficient with current technology. Our curriculum uses the Lucy Calkins Reading and Writing Units of Study. My students will be using the laptops for these subjects, as well as in math, science and social studies. Writing, reading, and math are subject students will work on a daily basis. The HP Streams would help my students accomplish this task. They would use the laptops to read e-books. The word processor would help students write their narrative, opinion, and information pieces. Revising, editing and publishing are more efficient accomplished when utilizing a laptop. In math, students will practice their math facts and other skills, utilizing programs such as Moby Max, Prodigy, and Reflex Math.
