I teach in an urban area where over 75% of students receive free or reduced price lunch. We are in an area that has been listed as high poverty.
My students, despite economic disadvantages, come to school daily eager to learn. The passion my students have to increase their reading skills is amazing. If we had Kindles, I know that they would achieve their goals of becoming proficient readers.
Every day my students are striving to improve their comprehension skills. Exposing them to more text will aid them in their journey to better their skills. The donations toward this project will greatly improve reading engagement and literacy in our classroom.
