Thousands of students participate in the National History Day competition every year. I have integrated this program into my basic history curriculum. Once students have conducted their research, they begin the process of creating their projects. Students will use poster boards, markers, glue, lettering, and scissors just to name a few supplies.
My students will use art and craft resources to create exhibit boards displaying their topic as it relates to the National History Day theme this year, Taking a Stand in History. Often, gathering the supplies can be expensive and may hinder the creative talents of students. These supplies will level the playing field for all students to participate and thrive.
