I am requesting a variety of sensory items to meet my student's behavioral and sensory needs as well as a neat and sturdy place to store them. Some of these items will be used as reinforcers for behavioral goals. All of our class has specific sensory goals and needs, and they all love to use their imagination in play and be creative. Their sensory goals include skills for building fine motor skills, sensory skills, and being able to label and describe pictures and objects. Behavioral goals include staying in the seat/area, calm hands and feet, keeping hands to self, beginning and completing tasks/assignments, and others. They use a picture choice board to choose their reinforcers so we do a lot of laminating as well in our classroom.
The products that I have chosen will help our students meet their sensory and behavioral goals in fun and engaging ways.
Every one of them loves to work hard on their goals to earn reinforcers and free time to engage in fun and creative activities. They continue to work on their goals during these activities but see it from a different perspective - FUN!
