Our school has lost a significant portion of its budget in the past two years. The basketballs which we have now are old and falling apart. The 8th grade class that is starting this school year has been nothing short of amazing the past 2 years. Their behavior, their academic improvement, and their citizenship made it a pleasure to come to work the past 2 years. Last year, the girls and boys worked hard on their respective basketball teams, while the graduating class of 2016 took their team for granted.
This year's team deserves to practice and play with new basketballs, and I know they will use your gift as motivation to make this season a success! I put together a scrimmage late last school year with only the incoming 8th graders, and the way the played as a team was a sight to behold. Most of our students come from very low-income families, so having the newest equipment will be quite a treat for them.
