My students deal with intense emotional trauma as well as learning disabilities like ADHD. They learn better with a functional chair and a clipboard over a rigid desk. They can wiggle but keep up with the lesson. Functional seating is popular in elementary schools, but I promise it is needed in our at-risk high school as well. Being comfortable while learning is my goal. I started a social emotional class at my school to combat the many stresses our students face. We learn numerous coping techniques and workout for our overall health. I would like the weight sets, so I can ensure students have the appropriate weight for their strength level. We currently don't have enough to go around.
