I recently started an opportunity for my students whom attend our Zoom classes--a "fun dress up day" where once a week they wear hats to class, or bring a buddy (a pet), or wear a Hawaiian shirt. Those whom take part in this silly weekly event will either receive a small prize mailed to them at their home address, or I will be entering their name into a drawing where I choose five winners and mail them a prize; I have not deiced on the volume yet, but cost is a limiting factor for me.
I get a few students in every class participating now, but feel if I upped the ante, I may get more participants. The prize ideas would be things like: gel pens, silly stickers, small gift card to coffee carts locally owned, pack of gum, easier to mail candy options, etc. I want to "treat" those that take part in this weekly fun and let them know I notice them, I appreciate them, and what they are doing to make our online classes a little better by participating matters to me!
I realize this act seems small, yet it brings a smile to many faces and it does matter. Can you help me with this idea?
