My students attend our title one school in Maryland. Many of them live in poverty having only the bare necessities. School is their sanctuary. It's the place they go where they can feel safe, loved, and follow their dreams. They come to school each day to learn how to read, write, and do math so that they can improve their own lives and the lives of their families.
