My students are a beautiful mix of curious, boisterous, and a little bit goofy. Their laughter echoes through the library as they discover a new book, and their eyes light up when a STEAM Lab project works. They are in a constant state of discovery and wonder, and it’s a privilege to witness.
My students are also incredibly resilient, persistent, and determined. In our Title I school, they come to me with a wide range of reading abilities and life experiences that make them some of the bravest and most tenacious people I know. They know how to balance their love of a good story with the hard work of building something new. My students are respected not only by me but by each other. Most importantly, they are learning to respect themselves. My goal is to make the library a place where they feel safe to learn, create, and grow.
