Our students have every opportunity to thrive in school! With alternative seating options and new sensory items, we can integrate more sensory input throughout their day. To allow a child to sit on a stool instead of a chair may build core strength and allow for focus. Ball seats let the kids bounce appropriately in their own area while learning and growing.
Children with autism also need constant timer reminders to know when transitions are coming. With the use of the timers, we can prepare the students for transition moments.
Finally, if we were to receive a new sensory swing and sensory sock, we can implement sensory breaks more frequently throughout our school day.
