We are a Title I school, so many of our students would be considered to be in poverty. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to experience things that some might take for granted.. My students are great kids who need every opportunity that I can possibly provide for them. I am trying to facilitate their learning so that they leave elementary school with the necessary reading and math skills. My students need adults in their lives that believe in them and their abilities. Since I have been teaching, I have seen faces light up when they understand something. Being a part of their "Aha! Moments" is worth all of the time and energy that it takes to be a teacher - that is why I do it!
