My art room is a revolving door. Classes come in almost consistently for 30-40 minute time periods. I don't have available time during the school day for students to come visit with me or work further on their ideas. This limit access makes is hard to build relationships or strengthen creative thinkers. I believe that by engaging "fans"(parents, grandparents, other relatives & friends) into the realm of the student's work via online portfolios. It will help all students feel more confident in what they are able to achieve. I think that student workmanship will improve when sharing becomes more in-depth & meaningful.
Student portfolios are already being used & people are responding back to the students. I especially think that "fans" who don't live nearby enjoy this because they can feel connected to the student's life. It is very rewarding & encouraging to see the feedback.
