This year I am focusing on building my classroom library to include books of varying reading levels with texts that will excite my students. With our school being Title I and the knowledge that many of them do not have access to home libraries, I am empowered to provide opportunities for them to read, read, read. My hope is that these leveled texts will allow students to advocate for their own learning by choosing a "good fit" book to individualize their education. With this will come confidence in themselves which can then create a pathway to greater learning in other content areas such as math and science.
