Being 9th graders, they are just learning what it means to be accountable for themselves and their learning. For many of them, they have come to realize that high school requires fortitude, dedication and resilience. They are are funny and curious and kind. However, many of them lack an understanding of the skills they will need to be successful as students. Many of them are the first in their family to attend high school in the United States and others hope to be the first in their family to graduate high school. Regardless of their background, they share a common goal of being successful. They are united their understanding that their education is an essential element of their future success.
