First, I would like to thank you for your consideration! I have been teaching for 14 years and have had the most amazing experiences with my students. I have a passion for teaching and consider myself lucky to do what I do! I am currently teaching 5th grade and have two classes of English Language Arts classes at an at-risk school. I love to watch my students evolve into genuine readers - the kind that beg for me to suggest their next book. The kinds of readers that make connections with what they are reading. I am motivated by the struggling reader and I enjoy helping him/her find the confidence to turn the next page. I thrive on challenging the stronger reader to read outside their comfort zone and try something new. I am not able to take my students on actual adventures BUT I can share the world, our history, and spark their imaginations with a good book!
