Learning straight from a textbook is not the best way to get students excited about math but with the use of hands on manipulative tools they can "have fun" while practicing their skills.
With the materials supplied, our students will take their learning into their own hands and develop their mathematical skills. We participate in math workshop centers everyday and the hands on tools will be used to practice our essential skills. Modeling with the use of manipulative tools help with mathematical concepts. Using a tactile manipulative we can help show our students how these visuals translate to conceptual models.
