Having a second screen while teaching online makes a big difference for my students! While one screen is dedicated to a zoom meeting, I can use the other to connect with students directly one-on-one while teaching. This means I can monitor their work through GoGuardian or Google Classroom, so I can help them if they need clarification or are struggling with technology issues. A second screen allows me to text or email students through Classroom or Guardian privately to answer questions or help them get caught up if they are behind or need more help than classmates. Being able to communicate with them one on one is really important for middle school students who do not like to be singled out in front of peers, especially when so many of them are already stressed by so many issues related to COVID and distance learning.
