We are fortunate to be a new 1:1 district in the current educational climate. Each of the students in our building now has a Chromebook that can be used for each of the three educational platforms - face-to-face learning, where students are physically present in the classrooms; virtual live learning, where the students log in to class from remote locations and move through their schedule synchronously; and virtual recorded learning, where students log in to classes from remote locations and complete work asynchronously.
In this new digital environment, what we need most are Chromebook chargers. They are forgotten at home in the chaos of daily life or left at mom’s when the student is spending the week at dad’s and requesting a trip back will cause a fight. These students are carrying every book, notebook, folder and electronic device to and from home every night in anticipation of a change in educational setting. If students are to succeed in a digital environment, they must have the tools that support this success. Having these extra chargers to distribute among the faculty for use by the students on a daily basis will ensure that every child has what he or she needs to accomplish the day’s goals.
