My third-grade students come from low socioeconomic households from a city in Southern California. The entire classroom is composed of English Language Learners reading below grade level. They also attend a school that is part of the free meal Title 1 program. Their curiosity and enthusiasm to learn merits the need for additional resources to promote growth and excellence.
