I teach in a high ability pull out program for gifted students. We work on higher level math problem solving skills. I place emphasis on using critical thinking and computational thinking skills all areas of instruction. We do two research projects each year. One is usually science based and the other is social studies based. In our research we read above grade level non-fiction books, use internet, and other resources to help us reach our goals. I use technology as a primary teaching tool with my students to prepare them for the 21 century world in which they are growing in. My students are highly engaged in all activities.
We use learn block coding, simple circuitry, use stem activities and complete experiments.
