My students are rock stars. My favorite moments in the classroom occur when students are surprised by their unrealized artistic capabilities and when they get excited about the techniques they have learned and the artwork they have created. The middle school I work in is a close-knit community, a family. The hallways are warm, happy, and filled with high-fives. I know the students feel important and safe there.
