I have students in my classroom that spend, on average of 85% of classtime pacing because sitting is too difficult. I feel that if they had desks to stand behind, they will be more likely too stand still since they have an assigned place to stand. The pacing is a distraction to all students in the class, so this will assist everyone in class to be more focused during lecture time. I also have students that have a difficult time staying awake in class, especially during independent computer work time. Standing will help their blood flowing to keep them awake!
