The materials I am requesting will help my 5th graders have a hands-on learning experience in music class. This project would fund 20 classroom ukuleles for students to excel on an instrument and, most importantly, have fun! Most of my students have not had any experience playing instruments either in class or for a performance of any kind.
I would like to give them other opportunities for learning that will get them excited to come to class every week! With this being said, the ukulele would be the perfect instrument; it is suitable for players of all experiences, sizes, and ages. With this project set up, I want to give my students a chance at making memories by creating and playing fun music on the ukulele. As they progress, they will be able to do independent and collaborative work to build musicianship skills along with building stronger relationships with their classmates.
