The Exploratorium is a museum in San Francisco that allows students to explore the world through science, art, and human perception. Its mission is to create inquiry-based experiences that transform learning worldwide. The Exploratorium offers a variety of ways—including exhibits, webcasts, websites, and events—to explore and understand the world.
My students have very few opportunities to explore the world around them; many of them have yet to venture past East Side San Jose. Allowing them to see science beyond the classroom, and beyond their neighborhood, will bring it to life while exposing them to a different city, encourage positive social skills, and see how what they've learned is applied in "real life."
