The class is highly structured with the use of visual schedules and visual strategies to help implement a routine and to facilitate the development of social skills, academic proficiency, and self help skills. The students also are taught self-regulation skills with the help of an appropriate sensory diet. Some students also rely on assistive technology to communicate. They are all eager to learn and to develop the skills that will help them to become employable after graduating.
