I teach in a school with a 58% free and reduced lunch population. Our 5th grade is departmentalized and my focus is primarily reading, which allows me to work with 62 students on a daily basis. This also allows me to get to know the entire 5th grade, not just the students in my homeroom. Students in my classroom are bright and eager to learn. We are in a rural community and have been slow to add the latest technology to our classrooms. In order for my students to have the best possible chance for success, I want to provide them access to technology and incredible educational resources on a daily basis which isn't currently possible in our school setting.
