Every child loves digging in the dirt, especially if they are rewarded with a thriving seedling! This can only occur with the proper tools. Students can't create a garden with just their hands! They need shoves, rakes, trolls, all the necessities to harvest a successful garden.
STEM-Xtravaganza Garden promotes self-awareness, nutritional attitudes, and expands community involvement. Our students participate in the planning, implementation, and harvesting of the garden. School gardens are a great way to teach children about where food really comes from and get them interested in healthy foods. Children are more apt to try a new food that they have seen grown from a small seed. Key tasks included building raised beds, creating plant labels, designing and planting a perennial garden, and creating a vegetable garden, which supplements the school menu.
