These materials will help meet the needs of my diverse and energetic little learners. My students need a place that is comfortable and will help keep them focused during a long school day. My students will be able to pick a seat that works best for their learning. Students that are a part of a student-centered classroom are successful learners. If they want to do their work on their floor, the lap desks and soft spots will be perfect for that. If they need to move their bodies while they work on a math project they can use the wobble chairs or cushions. If one of my students needs to move a bit while I do a read aloud; the Stay-n-Place balance ball will meet that child's need. The rocker chairs can be used to read to self or read to a partner during literacy centers.
They need a type of seating that will help them be successful and comfortable in the classroom. I am all about giving my student's choice and being flexible. I love the quote by Ignacio Estrada: "If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn."
