Students that visit me throughout the school day range from grades third through fifth. Many of my students are learning the English language and developing their reading skills along the way. They are quite active as they come to my classroom throughout the school day, and would really benefit from a way to get their wiggles out as we read together. My targeted groups need intensive instruction in phonics in order to be better able to read and then comprehend the text they are given at their instructional levels. We have high mobility within our school and find that many of our students are missing key reading skills in order to be successful at grade level tasks. We are Title 1 elementary school located in a large metropolitan city with over 96% of our students receiving free or reduced priced lunches.
