My students are a diverse group of fifth graders! My students come from a wide range of linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My students love learning and are extremely inquisitive and thoughtful individuals, however, they have a wide range of reading abilities and a wide range of interests in reading! Some of them practically devour books, and I want to give them a novel that will challenge their thinking. Others need coaxing and are resistant, so I want to create an enjoyable experience that will draw them in.
