This year, we will be taking on a new challenge; Blended Learning! This isn't the classroom centers we are used to. Instead, we are blending our lessons with individualized learning through the use of technology. That being said, in order to be successful, we need technology in our classroom.
In fifth grade, students have a love of questions and exploration. They love to research and expand on their classroom learning. What better way to do this, than to have a set of Amazon "Fire" Tablets available to delve deeper into a topic that they find interesting? This donation would make a world of difference for my students. This would give our classroom a technology center where they can work at their own pace on a project-based learning assignment that will build on what I am teaching to the class as a whole.
I have a great classroom library available to my students, but access to the internet for further research would be wonderful. One of our goals is for students to be able to draw on information from multiple print or digital sources in order to locate an answer to a question or solve a problem. It would be so much appreciated if I could offer many types of print and multimedia sources so that my students could be successful with this goal.
