The 2 Chrome OS computers would allow our school鈥檚 scholars receiving special education supports and services to work on their reading and mathematics research-based computer intervention. These 2 computers start the beginning of our dream computer lab where eventually we hope to have a one-to-one scholar-to-computer ratio.
My scholars shine like diamonds with facets reflecting their unique capabilities. Some scholars are on the autism spectrum or are developmentally delayed; others have emotional disturbance or intellectual disability; and there are those who strive to learn with an identified type of learning disability. Our Special Education teachers help our 鈥渟cholar jewels.鈥 We consider all scholars as special with each reflecting his or her personal best. Together they form our school鈥檚 鈥渃rown of learning.鈥
Our funding comes from the public and is thinly stretched throughout our county. Each school is accountable for budgeting its technology. Our school鈥檚 technology is outdated and worn-out. Having 2 dedicated computers will allow our school鈥檚 special education department to service scholars with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
