Flexible seating is a individualized approach to arranging the classroom environment which allows students to have multiple options and opportunities for seating. Flexible seating gives my students a choice in where they can learn and work, and puts a positive and personal emphasis on how my students' learning takes place.
I have found that giving my students a choice in where they can work helps to foster engagement and motivation, and ensures that the entire learning process is meaningful and unique. The implementation of flexible seating would allow for endless opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement for all students.
Ultimately, flexible seating is a positive educational tool that allows for meaningful movement, choice, comfort, collaboration, and community; these factors involved in flexible seating help to meet the needs of all students and benefit the overall educational process.
