Children simply cannot focus if their personal needs are not met. Unfortunately, the only complete meals my students have over the course of a week are the meals they have a school. Many mornings students come to school hungry because they did not have food to eat at home. This causes many of the children to complain about stomach aches and hunger pains.
Oftentimes students have to leave class to go to the nurse where they receive two saltine crackers. This results in a lot of missed class time. Having snacks available for the students to eat in the classroom would allow these precious children to get their personal needs met while continuing with their classwork.
