My students are great kids that really enjoy music. They recently received a "Superior" rating at their Band Evaluation concert. They enjoy the different avenues that we offer at our school, mainly Concert Band and our Pep Band which performs at middle school football games during the school year. I have also had 8 students selected to the District Honor Band, and one student went on to be selected for South Georgia Region Honor Band. These kids work hard and devote themselves to the Band program, even when other clubs and organizations require their time as well.
Our Band program services students from all walks of life: high, middle, and low classes, as well as students with disabilities. Our county is considered "high poverty", and every student in our school is eligible for a free breakfast and lunch every day.
These students work very hard, especially given the circumstances around them.
