I teach in a low-income school where my students do not have access to technology. I am in need of 3 Chromebooks and 2 Hokki stools for my first graders to enhance their vocabulary development. I have purchased an account on the Vocabulary Spelling City website and need my students to use the interactive site to practice their reading and vocabulary. This website will help my students use a wide range of word solving strategies while focusing on meaning. They will grow into strong readers and writers if given ample opportunities with this website. The Hokki stools are for my learners that need to be less fidgety while focusing on the learning. Time and time again research has shown that failure to learn spelling and sound correspondences to read and spell is the most frequent and debilitating cause of reading difficulty. I want to create strong life- long readers. So please help my students with the resources to empower their reading skills!
