They are eager to learn and are sometimes bored with direct instruction. They can find out anything from the Internet, so as teachers, we have to use that to our advantage and have them dig deeper into content. 70% of my students are economically challenged, so they could use the technology in the mornings or afternoons to stay on top of their online work. There is also a need for classroom collaboration between the students using such technology as Socrative, Kahoot.com, and other personalized learning software. I do have access to a laptop cart, but it is not available on a daily basis and I would like to have at least 10 tablets that are accessible during lessons and group work. With the use of technology, I can quickly assess their needs and address them. My goal is to have a blended learning classroom where students can move on when ready or receive direct instruction on concepts they are struggling with.
