My school is a large Title I school with a diverse student population, serving high numbers of economically disadvantaged children. We educate over 1200 kids from pre-k to 5th grade. Resources are limited, particularly with technology, as most classrooms do not have their own computer resources. I teach second graders English in a dual language program (Spanish-English), designed to teach kids fluency in both languages.
My students are curious by nature. They explore, question, and wonder, and by doing so, learn. They are drawn to new things and they want to explore them. And while exploring, they are discovering. This inspires my students to become creative and independent learners.
