I teach fifth grade students in a high poverty area. I value honesty, compassion, and kindness in my classroom and my students respond. My goal is to provide my students with a rich, academic experience that motivates them to be lifelong learners. To create that rich, academic experience for my students, I want to immerse them in meaningful projects and rich literature. I strive to help my students make connections.
As we learn about colonial America and the events leading up to the revolutionary war through texts, images, videos, and historical fiction, I watch the "aha" moments and the connections being made. The same is the case as we dig into our grade level science content.
Thank you in advance for making a difference in the lives of my students.
