The first item I need for my students is an HDMI cord. My students all have Chromebooks and the cord will allow the students to connect their Chromebooks to the projector. Throughout the year students will do research on a given topic (countries, authors, animals, famous historians, etc.). Then they will use Google Slides to create and present their information. Being able to share what you have learned is important for students. Presenting to others builds their confidence with speaking in front of others. It also gives the students a purpose for their learning. Students also travel to other classrooms in the school and will need the cord to present in other classrooms.
A bluetooth speaker will make my students projects come to life. My students will embed videos into their Google Slides. The speaker will allow the other students in the class to hear the sound on the videos. I also use YouTube to show music videos for math. It is very hard for the kids to hear the songs from my computer speaker.
