Having an iPad in our classroom would help aid in my students' communication, fine motor, and cognitive skills. It would also be a great positive reinforcer for my students to help aid in their behaviors. Technology has come a long way and there are many new apps out there now that are made specifically for students with autism. There are communication apps that can help my students who are non-verbal to better communicate their wants, needs, and choices. There are also many apps that can help aid in their fine motor skills and work on learning their letters, numbers, and shapes! Having an iPad would make a huge difference in our classroom and help my students to achieve more on their goals and help them to better attend to activities.
