Many of my students are below grade level in reading and their Lexile scores are not proficient and they are unable to comprehend or demonstrate mastery of a constructed written response. Various students have the emotional disturbance, and specific learning disabilities or needs. In addition, the vast majority are economically disadvantaged, however, all of them deserve a fair chance of being exposed to effective strategies that promote success. Despite their struggles and challenges, my students come to school ready to learn and know that I will give them what they need to be challenged and college career ready before the end of the school year.It is my goal to give them every opportunity and support possible to help them achieve their goals; specifically in regards to reading comprehension.
About my class
