Along with a safe environment these kiddos need access to books! This year I am looping with my first grade students to second grade. They are in need of some new books to keep them excited about reading and bins to store the books. Now, having taught them for a full year I know a lot of their interests and their reading level, that is why I have picked so many great books.
Last year, they were always excited when I would read new stories or add new books to the library. They are learning to love reading and I want that to continue. With this project I can continue to help my student grow as readers. My students will get their hands on new books that they will enjoy. These books will be placed in our library, used in book clubs, and enjoyed as I read them to the class.
In my classroom, we are not just learning HOW to read but we are learning how to LOVE reading! With these books my students will continue on their adventure of finding what books are a good fit for them and what they are interested in.
