The bookshelves in the library are worn out. It is a collection of mismatched, warped, sagging shelves that have seen better days. Several of the shelves are made of lightly stained plywood that were made by students many years ago and are beginning to splinter and come apart. These new bookshelves will allow me to create an environment that will motivate and inspire students to read. There are not enough bookshelves in the library to separate the different levels of reading material. Creating a reading space for the elementary, one for the middle school, and another for the high school that will benefit the students as they search for reading material is what I am striving to do. Reading is something that benefits students in all of their classes. Fostering a love of reading in every student is my goal and creating a warm, welcoming environment that showcases the books is a beginning.
