Many of the children I serve in my speech room lack language skills that many kids would typically learn through imaginative and pretend play which research has shown is the best and most natural way to learn vocabulary & social language skills. However, sadly, a lot of my children don’t have access to basic toys that facilitate the language skills. In order to best meet their needs, my classroom needs a variety of pretend play toys like plastic food, animals, people, vehicles & city maps To let their imaginations run wild and expand their language and Learn That playing can be learning too!
