I have about 20 students who regularly take part in my mid-day Music club. They are students at a small tech school in Cleveland, Ohio. Most of these students have not had access to music programs and really appreciate any outlet involving their enjoyment of music. My students use technology every day to further their education, working together in small groups and larger groups to achieve smaller goals and work on larger projects. As of now this project is to create a Music program, and the students have really been excited! They have donated their own time, money, and instruments for the cause and many stay in for lunch or after school to practice and improve. It builds self-worth and a new appreciation for the world around them. My best achieving students in the class tend to be students who have struggled in normal academics but love music so much that they practice diligently everyday. It is through this club that I have been able to build stronger bonds and help students grow.
