Support Mrs. Haggerty's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
Each week my students read books about different cultures, families, places, and people of all backgrounds. We have great discussions about the books we read. We discuss kindness and try to live that out in our classroom and our communities. My students are curious and eager and look forward to learning about others and what makes someone unique.
My students need updated multicultural books to keep learning about kindness and acceptance.
They also need books where they see themselves represented by the characters. With a very diverse class of students whose families are from all over the world, it is nice when the students have characters who look like them and that they can relate to. Books are the windows, doors, mirrors that students need to help build empathy and kindness.
A subscription to Scholastic Magazine will allow my students to learn about the current events in the world. The subscription gives teacher resources with added videos that can be used as a starting point for rich discussions.
Please help me update my library to include even more great multicultural books about inclusion, acceptance, and kindness.
